Harrison City Park. Explore the area, look at the fall leaves, get inspiration for a poem or a story.

Pick apples or pumpkins at an area farm and write a short story about it.

"Mary Arkwright Hutton: The Early Years"; Athol Library, Tuesday, Oct. 5, 6:30 pm, free. (Also Tuesday, Oct. 12., 6:30 pm) Mrs. Hutton worked tirelessly for women's suffrage in northern Idaho and Spokane. She was a boarding house owner in the Coeur d'Alene mining area and the influential, controversial wife of Hercules Mine owner Levi Hutton.
